I haven’t journaled for a while and today I felt like I should, I want to write a little bit about the good things in life. Just to remind myself to be thankful and to have gratitude for what life has given me.
The opportunities to travel the world, I’ve been to well over 20 countries now and I appreciate the fact that I have been so fortunate to do so. Some people have never got to experience more than their birth country. The sunshine, the snow, the sights, the food, the people, the culture. These are all things that vary so much across on the world and I truly am lucky to have had the chance to experience so much already.
My health, I’ve never had a major health scare, I’m 35 now. I knew a guy who died from health reasons just after he left school, which is to say just when his life should have really started. He’d finished his formal education but never got the chance to truly begin his life education. I do not take my health for granted. It’s important to me, I can do better though. On the whole I train well and eat well but I do drink too much, I can certainly be a weekend warrior. I am thankful that I am able to continue to the things I love without difficulty or concern.
Manchester United. They’ve been a part of my life since I can remember, I’ve travelled up and down England, across Europe devoting days at a time to them and not to mention tens of thousands of pounds. They bring me untold joy, they bring me sadness, they bring me a whole rollercoaster of emotions and I love every second of it. The feeling of belonging, the history, singing in the streets on the way to the game. I’m grateful every time I get to watch them, I probably should address the fact that they can set my mood for days at a time, but I guess that’s part of the passion.
The friends. I will see you soon, we shall share tales of times gone by, Maybe we’re no longer dreaming of the future but that doesn’t mean the future won’t happen. The only time though is the present and we should enjoy it whilst we can.
The family. Need I say more?
Peace and love everybody, peace and love.
